More New Music

Australia seems to be having a good month, music-wise. Here is my next new discovery: Wolfmother (band site, wikipedia site).

With each song, Wolfmother seems to pick a band to pay tribute to, and then makes you understand without a doubt what that band would sound like if they were still around today. So far, I have heard The Cult ("Woman"), Iron Maiden ("The Joker And The Thief"), Jethro Tull ("Witchcraft"), Cheap Trick ("Colossal"), Jefferson Airplane ("Apple Tree"), Black Sabbath ("Dimension"), Led Zepplin ("The White Unicorn"), and Yes ("Mind's Eye"). You listen to Wolfmother, and you instantly appreciate just how good the bands that they sound like actually were.

Unlike Rogue Traders a few posts below this one, it looks like this band has gotten some exposure in America through the movie, Jackass 2, as evidenced in the video of "The Joker And The Thief" below:
