This story is really burning up the circuit this evening: A Salt Lake City Tribune article about how 1000 firefighters who volunteered to help the hurricane victims were instead sent to Atlanta so that they could be trained in community relations, and hand out fliers, and (worst of all) stand behind President Bush during photo ops.
When the firefighters started taking off their FEMA T-shirts in protest, the FEMA spokesperson, Mary Hudak, offered up this gem:
"I would go back and ask the firefighter to revisit his commitment to FEMA, to firefighting and to the citizens of this country."
Just lovely. "If you're not with us, you're against us."
