In a gesture of mercy and probable indicator of his opinion on the laws protecting him from criticism and his image from being vandalized, the king pardoned the Swiss man convicted recently of spray painting over five of his portraits one night in the northern city of Chiang Mai.
Hopefully the Thai government recognizes this subtle attempt by His Majesty to influence the debate on these well-intentioned, but awkard laws.
