Complaining About Dem (But Not Rep) Syria Visit

Everybody, including the White House is up in arms about Democrat Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi's visit to Syria on April 2. However, they don't bother to mention that a Republican group of Congressmen was in Syria just the day before... nor do they bother to mention that a Republican Congressman was actually joining Speaker Pelosi on her trip to Syria.

The question I have is why can't reporters — who actually get paid to discover this kind of information — do their jobs? Do the journalists realize that there are people out there... bloggers... who are doing their job and not getting paid for it? Do journalists realize that when somebody does your job better than you do — and is doing it for free — that you are really in trouble?

Well at least Bloomberg had the common sense to write about the Republican hypocrisy... a hypocrisy which relies on lazy journalists who someitimes are actually just voice-activated tape recorders who don't bother to find out the truth about Republican propaganda.
UPDATE:

I think this is a much better example of a reason to get angry with The Speaker Of The House going overseas and talking with governments without White House permission:
Speaking with startling bluntness on an issue so delicate that diplomats have tiptoed around it for years, Newt Gingrich said today that he had warned China's top leaders that the United States would intervene militarily if Taiwan was attacked.

As he left for Tokyo after a three-day trip to China, Mr. Gingrich said he had made it absolutely clear how the United States would respond if such a military conflict arose.

Referring to his meetings with China's leaders, Mr. Gingrich said: "I said firmly, 'We want you to understand, we will defend Taiwan. Period.'"

China admonished the United States today to speak with one voice on foreign policy and accused Newt Gingrich of making "improper" statements on Washington's commitment to defend Taiwan from any military attack by the mainland.
Back then, do you think the Republicans were happy or angry that the Speaker of the House put the White House in a bind by performing some diplomacy of his own? Of course they were.

Pelosi is second in line for the presidency, that is the problem.

Ah. So what you are saying is that the Republicans don't have a problem with the party of the person visiting, but the seniority of that person. Correct? If the Democrats had sent a low-level functionary, such as the Secretary of State, Assistant Secretary of State, or the almost-unknown Senator Spector then the Republicans wouldn't have said anything?

Well that makes sense then.

Journalism in America is about as reliable as the politics.
They are both the best money can buy.
Just take a look at the money being raised by ALL the potential presidential front-runners.

Plus, the TV news in the USA is a total clown show in the morning.
