Pattaya Marriott Named Best Marriott In Thailand

(The other 9 hotels are all considered to be in the top 10.)

I was really excited for a minute, when I read that the Pattaya Marriott Resort & Spa was named "Best Hotel" at the annual Marriott International General Manager's Concerence in San Francisco recently. But then I realized they were only talking about best amongst the 10 Marriott properties in Thailand, as opposed to hundreds of Marriott hotels world-wide.

Well that's like kissing your sister.

Anyway, I can say in all honesty that the gardens and pool at the Marriott in Pattaya are truly spectacular... and the lobby often has live traditional Thai music being played when I walk through. The location on Beach Road, steps from the water's edge, right next to The Royal Garden Plaza shopping mall qualifies it as being at the utmost center of Pattaya, and makes it a great place to stay if you wish to remain pedestrian while in Pattaya.

Standard room rates go from $140 (THB 5,000) per night for 1 person occupancy ($38 per extra person) up to $215 (THB 7,500) per night for an ocean view with a balcony and several spa and resort packages thrown in (and there is no bar-girl charge for the higher room rates).
