In 2004, this German guy was arrested and charged with "abusing two girls under the age of 15" in Pattaya. Now he is caught with a house full of pornographic movies and photos of "boys under the age of 15".To add insult to injury, the Thai police have turned the fellow over to the German Embassy, where they may decide to put him in a German jail (with its' 35-hour work week and 10-week paid holiday and beer nights and hostess girls) instead of the hell on earth that is the Thai prison system.
I don't mind porn... and I have my own (amorphous and rather unformed) opinions about the age of consent that differ from what the law thinks (although my opinion is not my practice)... so I do have pity for the guy, but it seems to me that if you didn't learn your lesson, and you get caught twice for the same (major) crime in Thailand, then you deserve everything you get. Five or ten years in Der Nicestag is a lucky break if you ask me.
NOTE: The contents of this post have been changed to reflect the mistaken impression that 15 is the legal age of consent in Thailand. It is not... it is 18.

15 year old legal people????
15 is ILLEGAL in Thailad if it involves a foreigner and/or money! Any age under 18 is illegal.
The reason it states 15 in the original PCN articles is that under 15 is a MORE serious offence than under 18.
For the record and for readers information if you have sex with an under 13 in thailand you COULD face the death penalty.

Thanks. I was wondering about that 15-year-old thing myself. It did seem odd, and the PCN article didn't really state that very clearly.
