This coming Saturday is the Tiffany Show's "Miss International Queen" beauty pagent, to find the world's most beautiful transsexual. (Or at least from among those who are willing to shell out the airfare to Thailand.) Last year's winner, whose beauty is unlikely to be topped for years to come, is found on the right (photo stolen from the pagent website... thank you), and a link to her pagent contestant page is here.I'll be going with Took. It's going to be a star-studded event broadcast throughout Thailand live on one of the major networks. Rangsima has told me she is going as well, as her daughter is a friend of the son of the owner of Tiffany's.

I just finished posting this when my dictionary.com word of the day arrived by e-mail and I thought it was fitting:
virago \vuh-RAH-go; vuh-RAY-go\, noun: 1. A woman of extraordinary stature, strength, and courage. 2. A woman regarded as loud, scolding, ill-tempered, quarrelsome, or overbearing.
Virago comes from Latin virago, "a man-like woman, a female warrior, a heroine" from vir, "a man."
