Thailand Ready For Unrest As Court Ruling Comes
Prime Minister Surayud Chulanont
says the Thai government won't
tolerate any unrest if/when Thailand
bans certain political parties today.Bangkok is braced for protests when a court decides whether to disband certain political parties for election irregularities. The political parties themselves have called for there to be no protests, and a quiet admonition from His Majesty, the King of Thailand, seems to have calmed the waters even further. The King stated that no matter what the court's decision, it would be bad for Thailand.
Still though, the Thai government... any Thai government... is never one to brook dissent, so 13,000 troops and police are on call if there should be any commotion.
