Miss Tiffany Universe 2007 Winner Crowned

One of Pattaya's top tourist attractions is the massive transsexual Folies-type shows. Exceptionally popular with the Asian tourists, both Tiffany and Alcazar see thousands of visitors per night come to their shows where beautiful women who used to be men dance and put on a multi-million dollar display in 2,000-seat purpose-built auditoriums.

Every year, there are three major transsexual beauty pagaents in Pattaya. The first of the year is Miss Tiffany Universe, then Alcazar has their pagaent, and in late October, Tiffany's has the Miss International Queen competition, drawing transsexuals from all over the world to compete.

The Miss Tiffany Universe pagaent consists of 3 competitions, one at Ripley's Believe It Or Not, located in Royal Garden Plaza, a preliminary night in which a talent show and a "Miss Popular" is chosen by the contestants, and then the finals night competition, part of which is broadcast on live TV here in Thailand.

I have gone to the Miss Tiffany Universe show twice, and went to the Miss International Queen show one time as well. Ticket prices are expensive, at around 2,500 baht per person, but there is a nice cocktail hour beforehand, and you get to meet a lot of Thai celebrities. My principal complaint is that the show is a very long event (cocktails served at 7:00, and the show usually goes from 9:00 p.m. to 1:30 a.m. or later).

Still though, I might head back again for the Miss International Queen show this year. Pui has been bugging me to take her to see The Tiffany Show, and I know a lot of the girls who work in Tiffany's, so it would be nice to stop back for another visit.
