Look at those stuffed animals (note the ones in the background too). If I could convince Vinnie's parents to come visit me, I would be happy to direct them to the stuffed animal vendors who walk around Pattaya with these monstrous carts of stuffed animals, selling for about $5 to $10 each. The money saved on stuffed animal purchases would more than pay for their trip.That reminds me... I don't have a big stuffed puppy dog twice my size. That's sad.

I enjoyed reading about your trip to Laos - I am planning on visiting Laos in April, after Songkran in Chiang Mai. Now I know where to stay, where to eat, and what to do during my short stay. I'm from Mpls, so it's really interesting you met Tom from Mpls on your trip.
Question - is it easy to get a Visa from the airport for my stay in Laos or should I get one from their embassy here in America.

Everybody is awarded a visa on arrival in Laos for US$35. No problem at all unless you are planning on staying for more than 30 days (the length of the visa).
