Daily Report: Beer Lao On The Net

I overslept today, probably because of being tired out from yesterday morning's bus ride. I once again had to remind Pui and Go not to let me oversleep, no matter how happy I may seem curled up in bed.

Had Fuji for lunch again. Joy.

In the evening, I tried making Sang Som (Thai Rum) Pina Coladas, and it came out just fine. It isn't as good as Malibu or Bacardi, but at $2 per bottle instead of $20, my pocket says it's extra delish.

At night, it was out to TQ2 for a few beers. I normally don't go on Tuesdays, but Bob invited me, which is the best advertising he can do. TQ2 is really on the ropes with Steve's death, and it needs all the visitors it can get.

Lao Beer Girl.
In other news, Bob Harris (another favorite blogger of mine) discovered Beer Lao online. (One can only imagine the kind of web-surfing one would have to do to get to that spot on the internet from anyplace else.) I love Beer Lao actually, not because it tastes okay — which it does — but because if I'm drinking it, it can only mean I'm in Laos, which is always a good thing. Bob also found photos of the Beer Lao Girls, whom I have to say compare only moderately favorably to the girls you normally see riding around side-saddle on scooters on the streets of Vientienne in their cute little college uniforms.
