Daily Report: The Joy Of Cash Registers

Pretty much standard Thursday here in Pattayaland. Egg drop soup for lunch.

Tonight it was out to TQ2. My primary source of friends, comfort, companionship, and alcohol is hurting, dear readers. Please visit TQ2 and enjoy yourselves. It's on Walking Street, Soi BJ. Stop on in for 89 baht draft beers and rock music all night. Keep your hands of Jeab... she's mine.

Bob put out some delish tacos and burritos tonight. I think I ate most of them. (Sorry to the other patrons who missed out who might be reading this.)

I've mentioned before about Bob's ability to talk about stuff and keep you — or maybe it is just me — entertained for great periods of time. This evening, Bob went on and on about the new cash register in his restaurant. I don't know why, but I just simply enjoyed Bob's discovery of his cash register, finding the key to operate it, and getting it to work. (Granted, you had to be there to enjoy the story. My re-telling is a poor piece.)

After TQ2, I joined Stan for a beer at a nearby pub where one of the local ladies was having a birthday. It is general law of Pattaya #1 that wherever Stan goes, free drinks are bound to follow. Five free drinks later, and I called it a night. Although more free drinks at Champion A Gogo were sure to follow, I politely took a pass..

So it is home at 10:15 p.m. to discover that Pui is still out doing some Giffarine-related business — although I suspect that it involves Heineken somehow. She'll be home soon, and we are both off to bed.

Oh... Update: Got the Motorola software downloaded on my work computer (the only computer able to connect to the internet), and it couldn't "find" my mobile phone via USB cable. I really do have good photos and good stories to tell about my trip to Laos and Petchabun, but they will have to wait.
UPDATE

I thought she was joking, but Pui came back from her Giffaraine (i.e. the Asian version of Avon/Amway) with Giffaraine Coffee, Giffarine artificial sweetner, and Giffarine brand white rice. Well, after having given her a hard time about bringing back 100 baht worth of 10 kilograms of vegetables from Petchabun in order to save 50 baht, I couldn't give her a hard time about spending an extra 50 baht on household items. Besides, she's just a-bubblin' with happiness at her purchases, which is worth one-hundred times 50 baht.
