Bush Derangement Syndrome Of A Sort

Far-right Conservatives like to use the term "Bush Derangement Syndrome" to describe liberals' (i.e. anybody except themselves) anger fueled by President Bush's actions. (Or just fueled by President Bush, the person. Either one is okay.)

It turns out that there is such a thing as a Bush-related insanity, but it is not what you think. Therefore, to avoid confusion, I am calling this new mental disorder... more of a symptom really... the "Crazy People Support Bush Syndrome."

Heh.

Lohse, a social work master’s student at Southern Connecticut State University, says he has proven what many progressives have probably suspected for years: a direct link between mental illness and support for President Bush.

Lohse says his study is no joke. The thesis draws on a survey of 69 psychiatric outpatients in three Connecticut locations during the 2004 presidential election. Lohse’s study, backed by SCSU Psychology professor Jaak Rakfeldt and statistician Misty Ginacola, found a correlation between the severity of a person’s psychosis and their preferences for president: The more psychotic the voter, the more likely they were to vote for Bush. [emphasis Jil]**
Of course, the article gets into the scientific details of why crazy people are more likely to favor President Bush, but since this is really just an amusing, joking post to make fun of people who adore the Worst President Ever, and since the facts and figures of the article (linked to above) don't assist in making Bush supports look more stupid, I've left them out. Click on the link to read the details, obviously.

** p.s. I didn't know that psychotic people could vote, did you? I mean, not garden-variety crackpots like myself... I mean psychotic as in committed, hospitalized mental patients.
