Marijuana Is America's Highest Revenue Crop

More money is earned from the sale of domestically-grown marijuana in America than from corn and wheat combined. It's larger than peanuts in Georgia. It's larger than all the vegetables in California. Larger than tobacco in South and North Carolina.

It really is a joke that marijuana remains illegal in today's day and age. The fact that you could go out into a field, find a plant, and take the leaves of that plant, set them on fire, inhale the smoke, and then be sent to jail is ridiculous... and more people are smoking marijuana (and breaking the law) than ever before in the history of America.

Read this fact/myth page about marijuana. It is a fraction as addictive as alcohol, less damaging than tobacco, and basically just about every other "negative attribute" that people associate with marijuana is either completely false or greatly exaggerated.

I haven't smoked pot in almost a decade, and probably 2 or 3 times in the past 20 years, and generally have nothing to gain from seeing marijuana legalized in America... since (a) I don't live in America, and (b) have no real desire to get stoned anyway (and damn could I... this is Thailand, after all... home of the best marijuana on the planet).

Nonetheless, considering:
  1. the amount of money that is being spent trying to stop marijuana growth;
  2. the type of people who are currently profiting from marijuana growth;
  3. the type of people who are going to jail for marijuana possession; and
  4. the agricultural revenue that could be generated from marijuana growth...
Consdering all of that, with the myth-busting link above, it makes complete sense to legalize marijuana.

I was watching on the History Channel tonight the history of drugs, and fact of the matter is that drugs being made illegal in this country has its history in racism.

Cocaine was legal until it became a favorite among black people in the south, as well as bored Southern housewives as well. Then, white men started thinking that cocaine-fueled black men would get together with cocaine-fueled white women and have sex, and made it illegal.

Opium was legal until it became a favorite of Californian white women and Chineese. Then, white men started thinking that high Chineese men would get together with high white women and have sex, and made it illegal.

Marijuana was legal until it became a favorite of southern white women and Mexicans. Then, white men started thiking that stoned Mexican men would get together with stoned white women and have sex, and made it illegal.

Seriously: This really is why drugs are illegal in America.

If you ever decide to get high on some of that killer Thai bud... DON'T!!! The laws in Thailand are extremely harsh... Prison sentences for getting caught with a small amount are common...
