Summer Vacation

Pui packed a surprise in her suitcase upon returning to Pattaya after visiting her sick father in the hospital... her sick son, Pot.

Well, he's not really sick... but he is a 4-year-old child who just spent 12 hours in a non-air-conditioned-in-tropical-heat bus... so he's really sick.

However, this morning after a good sleep, he is much better.

He's a cute kid with a goofy smile. What's most amazing is that he can understand a good amount of what I am saying to him, which is rare.

So he is going to be here for a month, which means that I will have to start acting more like an adult: Buying lots of toys, eating lots of pizza and pretenting that vegetables really suck, and shoveling down as much ice cream before bedtime as possible. (My mother's father, Howard, would be so proud of me.)

Anyway, his new grandmother, Maid Go, is taking care of him along with all of her cleaning duties and gardening duties and cooking duties and errand running duties and massaging sore neck duties and pretending she likes cats duties... and on and on. (And some doofus gave me grief for paying her the absurdly-high sum of $175 a month.)

Tomorrow we're off to the beach!
