Pattaya City News has written that a British man was visiting an incarcerated friend of his at the Soi 9 police station when he was recognized as a wanted rapist and arrested. Pattaya Daily News reports that it was determined that the rapist was living in Pattaya, and was arrested at his home.
Regardless, this fellow apparently has a history of theft, cons, extortion, and ripping off bar girls. So, whether some of the rapist con artists with a propensity to steal from the locals are leaving Pattaya voluntarily, being flown home by their mothers, or getting busted by the police... it's all good news for Fun City. I don't hold out hope that Pattaya will ever be a pristine group of expatriates for whom criminal activity is unheard of, but a little improvement here and there is always welcome.

Hey I remember reading about the guy who done the runner and ended up in a toilet hiding. This is the same guy?
If it is this guy, Why hasn't the scumbag been sent home? He committed a pretty serious crime and sounds like an arsehole and looks a bit like one too.
What would you have to do in Thailand to be sent packing home?
Enjoy the last few days of your holiday.
Brunty.
Like I said before: There may be examples of farangs getting singled out by the police for something that Thai people can get away with (riding a motorcycle without a helmet, for instance), but there are a whole lot of instances where a farang can get off with a fine (or less), whereas a Thai person would probably be in jail.
jil, please confirm flight No and return time, will collect you
So true. And Thai people with power seem untouchable.
Look at the famous actor that just killed a person when he crashed his car into a lady collecting rubbish. He claimed he fell alseep but didn't hang around at teh crash scene.
All I have read since the crash is he went and gave merit at the funeral and of course all teh family have been compensated.
This happening back in Aust, no chance but agin our court systems a joke there anyway.
