Vang Pao Arrested In America For Lao Coup Plot

Vang Pao, the ex-Lao General given sanctuary in America after the Viet Nam war (and a fellow whom one of my best friends worked with helping Hmong settle in America) was arrested by the American government, accused of plotting to attack the Lao government, and attempting to purchase weapons and explosives to do so.

Sad. I'd love to see a different, friendlier and more transparant and free government in Laos as much as the general, but that isn't going to be accomplished with a couple of crates of C4 explosive and explosions that kill Lao government office workers.
