Cool Ring Around The Sun Over Pattaya Today

This bright ring around the sun is called a "22-degree halo", which occurs when clouds very high in altitude, and made from ice crystals, reflect the sun into a prismatic ring. It lasted for a couple of hours. Pui and I had fun for a little while trying to convince ourselves that the world was coming to an end.

This morning we saw a noticable ring around the sun in Jamaica. Could we be having cold clouds in this part of the world too?

Would be nice but for those who would not be able to keep themselves warm.

Thanks for keeping us informed.
