Eastern Seaboard Image Enhancement Discussed

Finding right shade of eyeshadow for Rayong is a bitch.

With Pattaya as a major tourist destination (for reasons so obvious even Thai people can't ignore), the other nearby provinces of Rayong (about 40 miles down the coast), Chantaburi (about 100 miles down the coast), and Trat (about 160 miles down the coast) are trying to package themselves with Chonburi province (where Pattaya is) as a holiday destination. With Chantaburi as the jewel-selling capital of southeast Asia, they seem to have decided on calling us "The Jewel Coast."

Truth is, the Eastern Seaboard of Thailand — this "Jewel Coast" — is a wonderful place where land meets ocean. Once you get past the oil refineries of Rayong, and work your way down into Chantaburi... and especially into Trat, you find wonderful tropical locales just waiting for development (and still only a couple of hours' drive from Pattaya... the world's biggest party city).

With beachfront property in the Sri-Racha / Banglamung / Naklua / Pattaya / Jomtien / Bang-Saray section of the Eastern Seaboard selling for $2 million an acre and up, there definitely are some gems to be had for a fraction of the price in Chantaburi and nearby areas.

Why don't you buy some property? It seems like a good investment.

Like I've told Pui: It's really a 50-50 thing. I'm halfway torn between buying and building in Petchabun and building in the Eastern Seaboard.

Both are wonderful, and the truth is that anything I build/live in is for life, not for investment. When the time comes to put up or shut up, then it will be Pui... or a coin toss... that decides between here and Petchabun. That's as straightforward as I can put it.
