Gloria ArroyoThere was a coup attempt in The Philippines yesterday. About 50 army officers and few high-ranking politicians walked out of a courthouse where they were being tried for a previous coup attempt, and barricaded themselves inside a nearby hotel, and called for President Arroyo to step down, and called for the military to withdraw their support for her.
Yawn.
(That's what the entire nation of the Philippines said... not me.)
President Arroyo — who spends most of her time fighting off corruption charges — immediately sent in troops and armored personnel carriers to retake the hotel, which they did.
