Businesslady Calls Foul On Corrupt Copyright Police

I couldn't really recommend this to other business owners: Going down to the police station and making a stink about people in an official capacity demanding bribes to make problems go away... but it is certainly a courageous act and a positive step to reforming the currently-corrupt and tainted free-for-all where the government and the business world cross paths.

Yes, of course if you are a business owner, there are benefits to dealing with corrupt civil servants and government officials, rather than following the rules. A little cash is better than a pile of forms or a week-long wait any day of the week. However, what's good for Thai business owners is not necessarily good for Thailand as a whole, and it is best for the Thai people to stop thinking that bribes and corruption are a great way for business owners to get things done on one hand, and a great way for government officials to make money on the other.
