Pattaya News Roundup

The Loy Krathong holiday is coming up on November 24, and Walking Street will be having a lot going on, including beauty pageants, concerts, and a food fair, featuring dishes from the different regions of Thailand. Head out to the costume shop and rent your lady (or yourself) some traditional Thai garb, and join the fun.

Pattaya has it's very own version of "Jesus toast": An elephant tree. Local Thai people, filled with a healthy dose of superstition, and a propensity for tall tales, have wonderful stories of miracles and luck having stemmed from worshiping the tree. Stop by for yourself to offer some bananas... and put in a good word for me while you're at it.

In the "I Can't Believe That Worked" category: The residents of a housing development learned that plastic bottles filled with water placed on the ground outside of houses chase off stray dogs from the neighborhood. The theory is that the water and bottles create reflections that the dog thinks is another dog.
