Fireworks Ban For Loy Krathong

In a brilliant display of Thai logic, during the Loy Krathong holiday this coming November 24th, a holiday in which Pattaya will see thousands upon thousands of candles set aloft on the winds to float off to Buddha-knows-where, fireworks will be banned in order to avoid people getting burned. It's kind of like banning hard liquor at Oktoberfest to cut down on heavy drinking.

Well, despite the anti-fun police's best efforts, I am sure that Loy Krathong will still be an enjoyable evening and a pretty sight down at the beach as thousands of little flames go floating into the night sky...

... and of course, this year nobody will get burned.
