King Bhumibol Home After A Month In The Hospital

source: Reuters
This coming December 5 will be King Bhumibol's 80th birthday, and his 61st year as King of Thailand, making him the world's longest-reigning monarch. He was recently admitted to the hospital for right-sided weakness due to insufficient blood flow to his brain.

Yesterday, wearing a pink jacket to symbolize good health (every color has a meaning in Thailand), the king, using a walker, left Siriraj hospital where more than 1 million people had stopped by during his 1-month stay to give their best wishes and pay their respects. Thousands of people wearing yellow shirts (the king's color) chanted "Long live the King" and even shed tears as the King waved, snapped a few photos, and then left the hospital with his wife, Queen Sirikit, and his eldest daughter, Princess Ubolratana.

The King's sister, who is 84 years old, is staying in the same hospital with abdominal cancer.

It sounds like a stroke with hemi-paralysis.
I hope he has a good recovery; I am sure he has the best doctors available.

Nice job on your blog and Epril's babe blogging is a nice touch!
