Go Yankees

It's a judgement call on whether or not to fight when you are the victim of a crime in Thailand. If you are being robbed, feel free to yell "ka-moy! ka-moy! shoo-ay! shoo-ay!" (Thief! Thief! Help! Help!) as loud as you can while you avoid getting stabbed or shot.

Thai people are actually pretty good about playing hero, and getting involved during crimes... just like in fights between Thais and farangs, actually... which is why you shout "ka-moy! shoo-ay!" while you're resisting, so that the newcomers aren't confused as to who to beat up.

Anyway, if you do decide to fight back, hopefully your case turns out like this American's, and (a) you don't get hurt, (b) you capture one of the crooks, and (c) you get your and your girlfriend's face on television.
